Values Sort

RankingRemote or in person

Rank twelve values. The gap between teams is the conversation.

Every organisation claims all twelve of these. Ranking them forces a team to say what it would actually trade away, and comparing two teams' rankings side by side explains most of the friction between them without anybody having to accuse anybody of anything.

Run this when…

The situations it was built for. If none of these is the room you have, it is probably the wrong activity.

  • A values or culture workshop
  • Two teams comparing how they actually work
  • A post-merger culture session

How it runs

Order a list alone, then as a team. The gap between the two is the debrief.

  1. 1You start a session and put the code on the big screen.
  2. 2Everyone joins on their phone — no app, no sign-up, just the code.
  3. 3You drive the pace from the host screen; the room answers as they go.
  4. 4Ending the session builds the report, with every answer in it.

Running it well

Only the host sees these. Participants never do.

  • Run this with two or more teams and compare. One team's ranking on its own is interesting; two rankings next to each other is a finding.
  • The bottom three matter more than the top three. Ask about those.

Run it yourself

Free for thirty days, no card. Add it, share the code, and your room is playing in about fifteen seconds.
