Common Ground
Team submitRemote or in person
Five things everyone on the table shares. Harder than it sounds.
Each table has to find five things true of every single person sitting at it, and nothing obvious counts — not 'we all work here' and not 'we all have hands'. Teams get through the easy answers in ninety seconds and then have to actually talk to each other.
Run this when…
The situations it was built for. If none of these is the room you have, it is probably the wrong activity.
- Newly mixed table groups
- A merger or acquisition integration day
- A cross-functional project kick-off
How it runs
A prompt, one answer per team, then the room votes or the host scores.
- 1You start a session and put the code on the big screen.
- 2Everyone joins on their phone — no app, no sign-up, just the code.
- 3You drive the pace from the host screen; the room answers as they go.
- 4Ending the session builds the report, with every answer in it.
Running it well
Only the host sees these. Participants never do.
- Ban the obvious explicitly and give examples of what you are banning. Otherwise every table submits 'we are all human'.
- Five is deliberately one more than comes easily. Do not let a table stop at four.
Run it yourself
Free for thirty days, no card. Add it, share the code, and your room is playing in about fifteen seconds.
